WANDERING IN THE WORLD happened while I was preparing to leave England in 1994, the goal being to preserve the music my friends and I had been making in and around the London folk scene. It was recorded with a hand-held machine in Tom Paley’s tiny flat. This is a memory montage –
the theme is “what I like,”
the genre is folk, and the
sound, I believe, is both
homemade and high-tone.
For this I thank Tom Mindte of Patuxent Records, who heard its possibilities and made it real.
